About Miss Macaluso:

Born and raised in a small hamlet outside of Canandaigua, NY, I graduated from Canandaigua Academy in 2019 and went on to complete a Bachelors of Fine Arts with a minor in Art Education from Alfred University in 2023. My student teaching placements were at Canandaigua Elementary and Webster-Schroeder High School.

On any given day, you can find me doing one of my favorite activities: Making something, Hiking with my dog George and partner Aaron, or riding my mule Dolly. Besides those three things, I don’t get out much - but I have a love of food, so sometimes I make it to a restaurant or grocery store.

My personal art practice is centered around the home. I love making things for people to use in their daily lives, that become parts of their homes and households. Drawing and Painting, Sewing, Pottery, Woodworking, and Jewelry-Making, are all crafts I have delved very deeply into to support my love of making and usefulness within the home.

My drive to make comes from an entrepreneurial spirit, a love of homemaking, and a need to create. Vintage items often spark creative juices for me, and I love creating unique clothing that has a retro flare. A lot of my personal inspiration for making furniture, pottery and drawings centers around interior design and dreaming up ideas for my own home. I have a deep appreciation and love for the American Arts and Crafts Movement, and I draw a lot of inspiration from that time period of making in America.
